Welcome to Villa Keira, a beautifully restored masseria in Viagrande, on the slopes of Mount Etna. From the lava-stone staircase to the glass-screened pool pavilion, every space blends traditional charm with minimalist modern design.

Located in the typical village of Viagrande, on the slopes of Mount Etna, Villa Keira sits within an extensive garden of pines, palms and conifers, centred around a large pool. Its position makes it an ideal base for exploring the region – guests can climb Mount Etna, head down to the sea, and spend an evening in lively Taormina, all in a single day.

Thoughtful restoration has transformed an old masseria into a chic, contemporary home. From the outside, the villa retains its traditional character, with stucco and lava-stone walls and an external lava-stone staircase leading up to the main living area. Inside, however, the atmosphere shifts entirely – minimalist Mediterranean interiors, open spaces and carefully chosen materials, with the occasional playful splash of colour. The living room, with its high vaulted, frescoed ceilings, is divided from the dining area by an almost imperceptible fireplace, while a designer kitchen with a striking cooking island sits between the dining space and a glass-walled terrace, blurring the line between indoor and outdoor dining.

A corridor leads to two ensuite bedrooms of varying size, while a sculptural staircase leads up past a designer bathroom to a glass-walled double bedroom overlooking the pool, with a skylight above for stargazing, and continues on to a spacious attic bedroom with its own ensuite bathroom. Outside, a lava-stone cobbled path crosses the lawn and conifers to reach the villa’s striking pool, flanked by a glass-screened pavilion designed for parties or simply as a stylish shelter from sun, wind or rain. Villa Keira offers an experience shaped by design, history and the timeless character of Sicily’s Etna region.
