Villa Perla resides at the end of a winding lane, passing through an enchanting mahogany forest on the Porters Estate, on the sun-kissed Caribbean island of Barbados. A quaint property from the outside, its red roof and local stone walls stand out picturesquely against the surrounding greenery and deep woods, while a spacious interior and expansive back garden reveal the villa’s true scale.

The landscaped garden features swaying palms, manicured shrubs and flowers, and a circular pond at the centre of winding garden paths, all thoughtfully lit in the evenings. A stone-laid terrace surrounds the swimming pool just steps away, with sun loungers offering an easy choice between sunbathing and a cool dip. Inside, an open-plan lounge extends onto the pool terrace through rounded archways, furnished with wood pieces, comfortable textiles and ceiling fans for easy, breezy living. The older section of the villa houses the lounge and primary bedroom, connecting through to a newer wing with the dining area, kitchen and two further bedrooms.

The dining room offers rustic elegance, with marble floors, coral-stone walls, vaulted wooden beams and a striking cage chandelier overlooking an elevated lily pond in the garden. The adjoining kitchen is modern and sleek, equipped with state-of-the-art appliances and ample storage. All three bedrooms are located on the ground floor, bright and airy with high ceilings, king-size beds—convertible to twins in the new wing—and ensuite bathrooms with walk-in showers.
