Welcome to Chalet Fernalp, built to maximise a sense of space and connection to the mountains, with a light-filled atrium stairwell. From the outdoor hot tub to the Onsen, every space is designed for wellness and Matterhorn views.

Chalet Fernalp was designed to maximise a feeling of space and connectivity to the mountains and wilderness, with every room enjoying fantastic views and a light-filled atrium stairwell bringing sunlight throughout the chalet.

Located in Zermatt’s only ski-in/ski-out district, Winklematten, the chalet is a short walk from the meadow where guests can ski down to the Klein Matterhorn Express, and ski back to the door via the Moosweg run. This unique free-standing chalet can cater for groups of up to 20 guests, with an outdoor hot tub, steam room, sauna, massage room and an Onsen, all with Matterhorn views, alongside a gym with a wide range of fitness equipment on the lower ground floor.

The upper floor houses the dining area, with a solid elm wood table accommodating 20 guests, alongside a comfortable lounge with an open 360-degree fire feature and stunning Matterhorn views. A fully fitted kitchen supports a hand-picked team preparing fine cuisine throughout the stay, while an office area and a cinema room with gaming setup sit just off the lounge, along with a kids’ bunk room on the same floor.

The ground floor comprises two large ensuite double bedrooms with Matterhorn or stream views, a further lounge that can convert into a bedroom for larger groups, two additional double bedrooms sharing a bathroom with double showers and a free-standing bath, and a guest bathroom. The lower ground floor adds a double ensuite bedroom with stream views and a double/twin bedroom with a third cabin bed suitable for a young child. A lift makes the chalet accessible for guests with reduced mobility, while chalet staff are on hand to serve champagne in the hot tub, arrange massages, and prepare breakfast, afternoon tea and a six-course evening meal.
