The protected area of Akrotiri is a quite unique spot in Crete. Only 20 minutes by car from the old venetian town of Chania, the peninsula has been largely spared by tourism. You will find no big hotels nor chinese or italian restaurantshere, but many small traditional tavernas and exciting things to fill your days. From sandy beaches to old monasteriesand hiking trails, the peninsula offers so many things to do… That is, if you find the motivation to leave the villa and it sabsolutely unique sea and sunset views. Many of our guests indeed had to come back because it’s so tempting to just enjoy a drink (or two) at the pool and admire the enchanting scenery all day long. In these moments, you literally experience what huge difference it makes staying “front row” to the sea. But the location is also ideal to perform exciting day trips, be it to the exquisite beaches of Balos, the old towns of Chania and Rethymnon, to hike the gorge of Samarasor discover the southern towns and creeks of Loutra and Marmara.
