Italy > Villa Rapallo
Villa Rapallo
illa Rapallo has resided beside the Italian Riviera for over a century. Originally a grand family home, the property has been transformed into a full-service hotel and well-renowned entertainment mecca for international musical stars.
The villa was built in the early years of the twentieth century, during a period when Rapallo was developing as a growing destination along the Ligurian coast. Designed in the Liberty style of the time, it reflects the architectural language of that era, with light proportions and decorative detail that remain visible in its structure today.
Over the following decades, the building adapted to changing uses. It moved from a private residence into hospitality, eventually operating as a hotel known as Hotel Victory. During the 1960s and 1970s, it became closely associated with the music scene of the Italian Riviera, hosting private gatherings and staying connected to the cultural life of the coast. Here the most beautiful and notable names in music stayed, including Frank Sinatra, Chet Baker, Stevie Wonder, Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, Ray Charles, James Brown, Julio Iglesias and Liza Minnelli.
A distinctive arrival route through an underground level remains part of the experience, a feature introduced during later adaptations of the property. From here, the building opens upwards towards the harbour, where each level is oriented towards the water and the surrounding coastline.
Today, the villa retains clear traces of its architectural and cultural past, while being reimagined for a contemporary living.
