Chalet Balty

Originally a 1940s Valais house, the chalet has been thoughtfully reimagined by Heinz Julen, who modernised and extended the property by two storeys in harmony with its traditional alpine character.

The extension is crafted entirely from local larch and features expansive glass façades, offering spectacular 360-degree panoramic views over the village and towards the Matterhorn.

The chalet offers five double bedrooms, one of which includes a high sleeper, providing an additional bed ideal for a child. Under open gabled ceilings, the top floor unfolds into a generous living, dining and kitchen space, centred around a fireplace.

At the touch of a button, the roof opens and a whirlpool is hydraulically lifted above it, revealing truly breathtaking views. This extraordinary feature makes for an unforgettable experience, unlike anything else in Zermatt.

All furniture and furnishings have been custom-designed and crafted in Heinz Julen’s Zermatt studio, complemented by a curated selection of contemporary art from local galleries.
